BILL COSBY SHOULD TRY SOME HONEST REDEMPTION.
THE KUHNS REPORT
LAS VEGAS
Hello America, and how is the world treating you?
Marilyn, from Ohio, asked my opinion on the Bill Cosby matter. So, here it is Marilyn. If all of the allegations that have surfaced are true then I believe there should be some kid of an apology from Cosby. Since statute of limitations apply after all these years I can't see where any criminal action could be taken against Cosby today.
That said, personally, I have no use for predators and according to all of the information provided by the large number of women that came forward describing the alleged sexual acts I think there should be consequences to the alleged predator.
It appears that all of the complaining women tell the same story: They allege Cosby drugged them and then committed sexual acts upon their bodies, without their permission. Most all tell the same tale and all said they were afraid to come forward because no one would believe them and because he was : "BILL COSBY"
It was also reported in the media that person(s) in the entertainment industry knew of Cosby's alleged crimes, but said nothing. It was also reported that at least one case was settled before it went to court.
The sad part is: How does a man that has most everything they would ever want stoop to DRUGGING women to have their way with them sexually. I'm sure that Cosby could have had many women just by asking them to sleep with him. There are tons of star struck women in the country that would have sex for the chance of being in a movie, sit com, or whatever. It happens every day. The movie/entertainment industry is rife with that sort of thing. But possibly, Cosby, for reasons only known to him decided that his way to have sex is to incapacitate the woman by drugs and have his way. Was he afraid these women would say "No?" Did he think he couldn't get these women in bed without drugging them? Who knows? Cosby is not talking. Apparently, if the allegations are true. That was Cosby's "mode of operation."
Yet, the hits, keep on coming, don't they? It seems another woman comes forward most everyday. People often say, where there's smoke there's fire but in Cosby's case it looks like a firestorm.
The networks were right in cancelling any upcoming television show that was in production for Cosby. I say they were right when they took his old Cosby Show off the air and will stop running all those reruns and it was correct when the Letterman Show pulled the plug on Cosby's appearance.
What does bother me is some of the people here in Las Vegas allowing Cosby to still appear at the TREASURE ISLAND Hotel and Casino. I think they should have cancelled his upcoming shows. It is reported that the owner of the Treasure Island Hotel/Casino, Phil Ruffin, is a very good friend of Cosby's so since he owns the hotel he has the juice to let Cosby go on and appear there. My thought would be -- WHY? Is raking in the money from curiosity seekers worth the reputation of the hotel/casino? I think the prudent thing Ruffin and his Treasure Island Hotel/Casino could have done was follow suit with the networks and cancel his appearance. But - -THIS is VEGAS folks and juice goes a long way. Shame on the Treasure Island Hotel/Casino for enabling this alleged predator. Cosby's credibility has taken a nose dive around the world. However, this hotel.casino continues to present Cosby. The Treasure Island Casino even said all proceeds from Cosby's shows will go to charity. I say, that doesn't make it right. Cosby's contract and any future contract at the hotel/casino should be cancelled.
Would I pay to see the man perform? No!
Where's the women's groups. They should be taking to the streets here in Las Vegas protesting Cosby's appearance at the TI.
Some of my thoughts in this matter are that Bill Cosby's situation should be treated similar to how the nation and public treated O.J.Simpson. Shun the guy, don't pay to see him appear in public. Why would you? What would he say during a performance that would be of interest to an audience? Public opinion counts for a lot. I also predict the Cosby situation will get worse with each new revelation that seeps out. It's clearly not going to get any better, especially when Cosby, himself, refuses to discuss the case or face any of his accusers.
I would say to Bill Cosby - -seek redemption Cosby. Go public, talk about your sexual indiscretions that occurred over the decades and ask the public for FORGIVENESS. That's a step forward and will be some semblance of closure for the women who said they were drugged and raped by you. - And, that's my opinion. Make your own decisions., You decide.
